INTERNATIONAL POLAR BEAR DAY
Every year on February 27 this day wants to bring attention to the challenges of the polar bears with the warming Arctic. This species is the symbol of the Arctic and in the last decades the melting of the sea ice is creating problems at the normal habits of the polar bears. Celebrate this day means keep high the attention of the media on the problems originated by the main fuel companies.
I want to celebrate my international Polar Bear Day with a picture taken in the 2015. The picture is a bit different than usual “macro” of polar bears, because my goal has been capture a portrait of a polar bear in its habitat. This specimen was in a perfect conditions moving in the front of the glacier looking down at the sea to find seals.
I’m looking forward for the upcoming new Arctic Photo-Expedition… stay tuned!
